Para-military groups

Paramilitary groups are organized armed organizations that operate similarly to military forces but are not official state military units. They often have a hierarchical structure, use military-style tactics, and may pursue political, ideological, or territorial goals. These groups can be involved in conflict, security enforcement, or insurgency, and sometimes operate outside the law, making their activities complex and contentious. While they can function with government support or independently, they are distinct from official national armies and may engage in activities that challenge state authority or stability.
