Papyrus scrolls

Papyrus scrolls are ancient writing materials made from the pith of the papyrus plant, commonly used in Egypt and surrounding regions. The stalks of the plant were sliced into thin strips, which were pressed and glued together to form sheets. These sheets were then joined end-to-end to create long scrolls, which served as a primary medium for writing manuscripts, official documents, and literary texts in antiquity. Unlike modern books, scrolls were rolled up for storage and unrolled as needed. They provide valuable insights into ancient culture, language, and history.
