Papillary Carcinoma
Papillary carcinoma is the most common type of thyroid cancer, originating from the cells of the thyroid gland in the neck. It typically grows slowly and often spreads to nearby lymph nodes but has an excellent prognosis with appropriate treatment. This cancer usually presents as a visible or palpable lump in the neck and may cause hoarseness or difficulty swallowing. Diagnosis involves ultrasound imaging and a biopsy. Treatment generally includes surgical removal of the affected thyroid tissue, often followed by radioactive iodine therapy to eliminate remaining cancer cells. Overall, papillary carcinoma is highly treatable with proper medical care.
