Papal Legates
Papal legates are official representatives of the Pope, the leader of the Roman Catholic Church. They are appointed to carry out diplomatic missions or to oversee church matters in specific regions or during important events. Legates can be bishops or cardinals and have the authority to negotiate and make decisions on behalf of the Pope. Their role often involves fostering relationships with local churches, resolving disputes, or promoting the Church's interests. Essentially, they act as the Pope’s voice and presence in areas where direct papal engagement is needed.
