PaO2

PaO₂, or arterial oxygen pressure, measures the amount of oxygen dissolved in the blood's arterial plasma. It indicates how effectively oxygen is moving from the lungs into the bloodstream, which is essential for providing oxygen to tissues and organs. Normal PaO₂ values generally range from 75 to 100 mm Hg. Low PaO₂ levels can suggest issues like lung diseases or impaired oxygen exchange, while high levels are usually normal or can occur with supplemental oxygen therapy. It is a key measurement used by healthcare providers to assess respiratory function and monitor oxygenation status.
