Pannonian Basin
The Pannonian Basin is a large, flat geographic area located in Central Europe, primarily within Hungary, Serbia, Croatia, and Romania. It formed millions of years ago through tectonic processes that created a low-lying, sediment-filled basin. Today, it features fertile plains, extensive agriculture, and some of Europe's largest wetlands and lakes, like the Danube River and Lake Balaton. The basin's geology also makes it a significant region for natural gas and mineral extraction. Its mild climate and long history of human settlement make it an important cultural and economic region in Central Europe.
