Pancreatic Pseudocysts

Pancreatic pseudocysts are fluid-filled sacs that form in the pancreas, often following inflammation or injury to the organ, commonly due to pancreatitis. These cysts are not true cysts because they lack a proper lining; instead, they consist of fluid, enzymes, and tissue debris. While they can be painless and often resolve on their own, they may cause symptoms like abdominal pain, nausea, or even complications if they grow large or become infected. Treatment may involve monitoring or, in some cases, surgical intervention to drain the cyst.
