Panchala Kingdom

The Panchala Kingdom was an ancient Indian realm located in the northern part of the Indian subcontinent, roughly corresponding to parts of modern-day northern Uttar Pradesh and southern Uttarakhand. It was a prominent cultural and political center during the Mahabharata era, known for its rich traditions, learning, and martial prowess. Panchala was divided into two main regions: North Panchala and South Panchala, each ruled by different kings but often united culturally. The kingdom played a significant role in Indian history, especially during the development of early Indian civilization and epic narratives like the Mahabharata.
