Panama Canal (under construction)

The Panama Canal (under construction) is an ongoing project to expand the existing ship passage in Panama, aiming to increase its capacity and efficiency. This new section, often called the "Third Set of Locks," allows larger ships, known as Neo-Panamax vessels, to traverse the canal. Once completed, it will facilitate more global trade by enabling bigger ships to pass through quicker and with reduced congestion. The expansion improves economic connections between the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, boosting trade and development in the region, while maintaining Panama’s strategic position as a critical maritime route.
