Pan-American Highway

The Pan-American Highway is an extensive network of roads that stretches approximately 30,000 kilometers from Prudhoe Bay in Alaska to Ushuaia in Argentina, connecting North, Central, and South America. It aims to facilitate transportation, commerce, and travel across the Americas. While most of the route is continuous, the highway has a notable break at the Darien Gap—a dense jungle between Panama and Colombia—where no roads currently connect. Overall, it symbolizes a major effort to link the continents' road systems, promoting regional integration and economic development.
