Palmar hyperhidrosis

Palmar hyperhidrosis is a condition characterized by excessive sweating of the palms, often unrelated to heat or physical activity. It occurs due to overactivity of the sweat glands controlled by the nervous system, specifically the sympathetic nerves. This results in persistent, sometimes severe sweating that can interfere with daily activities, grip, and social interactions. The exact cause is not fully understood, but it is considered a primary (idiopathic) disorder. It can be hereditary and may be associated with other body regions. Treatment options include antiperspirants, medications, neurological procedures, or surgical interventions to reduce nerve activity.
