Pallavas
The Pallavas were an influential dynasty that ruled parts of southern India, particularly in present-day Tamil Nadu, from the 3rd to the 9th centuries. They played a crucial role in the development of Dravidian architecture, most notably through rock-cut temples and monumental sculptures, with famous sites like Mahabalipuram. The Pallavas were also patrons of literature and culture, promoting Sanskrit and Tamil languages. Their reign marked a significant period for trade, religion (especially Buddhism and Hinduism), and political power in South India, paving the way for future dynasties like the Cholas.
