Palindromic Rheumatism

Palindromic Rheumatism is a condition characterized by recurrent episodes of joint pain and swelling that appear suddenly and last for a few days to weeks, then resolve completely. Unlike rheumatoid arthritis (RA), which causes chronic joint damage, palindromic rheumatism typically does not lead to long-term joint problems. The symptoms can come and go unpredictably, often affecting the same joints during flare-ups. While it can be a precursor to rheumatoid arthritis, not everyone with palindromic rheumatism will develop RA. Treatment focuses on managing symptoms during flare-ups, often using anti-inflammatory medications.
