Palaiologian Dynasty

The Palaiologian Dynasty was the last ruling family of the Byzantine Empire, reigning from 1259 until the empire's fall in 1453. Founded by Theodore Palaiologos, the dynasty was marked by efforts to revive the empire amid internal strife and external threats from the Ottoman Turks. Under their leadership, the Byzantines experienced a brief resurgence but ultimately faced decline, culminating in the fall of Constantinople. The dynasty’s era is notable for cultural and artistic achievements, as well as the struggle to preserve Byzantine civilization in its final centuries.
