Palaeolithic period
The Paleolithic period, also known as the Old Stone Age, is the earliest phase of human history, starting around 2.5 million years ago and lasting until about 10,000 years ago. During this time, humans primarily lived as hunter-gatherers, using stone tools to hunt animals, gather plants, and create basic shelters. They had developing language skills and started to control fire. The Paleolithic period saw the emergence of early human species, including Homo habilis and Homo erectus, laying the foundation for later technological and cultural advances. It represents the longest phase of human prehistory.
