Pakistan-administered Kashmir (Azaad Kashmir)

Pakistan-administered Kashmir, also known as Azad Kashmir, is a self-governing region controlled by Pakistan but considered part of the larger Kashmir dispute with India. It covers areas west of India-administered Kashmir and is administered through its own government. Although Pakistan manages defense, foreign policy, and financial affairs, Azad Kashmir has its own legislative assembly. The region is characterized by mountainous terrain and a diverse population. Its status is disputed, with India claiming all of Jammu and Kashmir, but Azad Kashmir functions as a semi-autonomous territory under Pakistani sovereignty.
