Pajang Sultanate
The Pajang Sultanate was a short-lived Islamic kingdom in Java, Indonesia, that existed from 1568 to 1578. It was founded by Sultan Hadiwijaya after the fall of the Demak Sultanate, serving as a transitional power in the region. The kingdom helped solidify Islam's influence among Javanese rulers and laid groundwork for future Islamic states. While it was relatively small and lasted only a decade, Pajang played an important role in shaping Java's political and cultural landscape during a period of regional change and Islamic expansion.
