Pain

Pain is a complex, protective response of the nervous system that signals when the body is hurt or at risk of injury. It involves nerves, the spinal cord, and the brain working together to interpret signals from the body’s tissues. When damage or potential harm is detected, the brain produces pain to alert you to stop or protect the affected area. However, pain isn’t always directly proportional to injury; it can persist even after healing or occur without clear tissue damage, reflecting the nervous system’s role in managing our perception of threat or distress.
