Pahlavi literature

Pahlavi literature refers to texts written in Middle Persian, the language of the Sasanian Empire (224–651 CE), and its ancestors. It includes religious, historical, and philosophical writings that preserve Zoroastrian beliefs and cultural traditions. This literature often employs poetic and scholarly styles, serving as a bridge between ancient Avestan texts and later Middle Persian works. Despite many texts being fragmentary, Pahlavi literature provides valuable insights into early Iranian history, religion, and society, maintaining a significant role in understanding pre-Islamic Persia's cultural identity.
