Pacific Tsunami Zone
The Pacific Tsunami Zone is an area around the Pacific Ocean known for its high risk of tsunamis due to tectonic activity. This zone encompasses regions along the Pacific Rim, including countries like Japan, the United States (west coast), Canada, Mexico, Central and South America, and parts of Southeast Asia. Earthquakes beneath the ocean floor can displace large amounts of water, triggering tsunamis that can travel vast distances at high speeds. Because of this, communities within this zone typically have established warning systems and preparedness plans to minimize damage and protect lives.
