PACIFIC Trial

The PACIFIC Trial was a large research study designed to test whether adding a specialized type of radiation therapy, called stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT), to standard cancer treatment improves outcomes for patients with stage I non-small cell lung cancer. The study found that combining SBRT with existing treatments increased the chances of controlling the tumor and extending survival, without significant added side effects. These findings suggest that integrating precise radiation therapy could be a beneficial option for certain lung cancer patients, potentially improving their quality of life and treatment success.
