Pacific Telesis Group

Pacific Telesis Group was a major telecommunications company based in California, formed in 1983 from the breakup of AT&T's Western operations. It provided local phone services, including landlines and related communications. In 1997, Pacific Telesis merged with SBC Communications, a larger telecom company, which eventually became part of AT&T Inc. Today, its legacy continues under AT&T, serving millions of customers with various communication services. Pacific Telesis played a significant role in expanding and maintaining telephone infrastructure in the Western U.S. during its operation.
