Pacific Standard Time (PST) is the time zone that is 8 hours behind Coordinated Universal Time (UTC-8). It is used by regions on the west coast of the United States and some parts of Canada during standard time (winter months). When daylight saving time is in effect (spring through fall), the region switches to Pacific Daylight Time (PDT), which is UTC-7.
