Pacific Earthquake Engineering Research Center
The Pacific Earthquake Engineering Research Center (PEER) is a collaborative organization dedicated to studying how buildings and infrastructure respond to earthquakes. Its goal is to develop better designs, standards, and methods to improve safety, resilience, and performance of structures during seismic events. PEER conducts research, provides technical expertise, and shares knowledge to protect communities in earthquake-prone regions, primarily along the West Coast of the United States. Through scientific innovation and industry partnerships, PEER helps urban areas prepare for and recover from earthquakes more effectively.
