Pacemaker Syndrome

Pacemaker syndrome is a condition that can occur in some people who have a pacemaker, a device that helps regulate their heartbeat. It happens when the pacemaker’s settings cause the heart’s upper chambers (atria) and lower chambers (ventricles) to beat out of sync, leading to symptoms like dizziness, fatigue, or swelling. This miscoordination affects blood flow and can make a person feel unwell. Adjusting the pacemaker’s settings or changing its placement usually helps fix the problem, restoring proper heart function and relieving symptoms.
