P series
The P series is a set of special mathematical expressions called "series," where each term is created by dividing a fixed number (like 1 or 1/2) by successive powers of another number, typically a positive integer p. For example, the harmonic series (a P series with p=1) sums the reciprocal of natural numbers: 1 + 1/2 + 1/3 + 1/4 + .... The behavior of these series—whether they converge to a finite sum or diverge—depends on the value of p. Specifically, if p is greater than 1, the series converges; if p is less than or equal to 1, it diverges.
