Oxygen production
Oxygen production mainly occurs through a process called photosynthesis, where plants, algae, and certain bacteria use sunlight to convert carbon dioxide from the air and water into glucose and oxygen. Chlorophyll in these organisms captures sunlight, energizing the chemical reaction. The glucose provides energy for growth, while oxygen is released as a byproduct into the atmosphere. This natural process sustains the breathable air we depend on, making life possible on Earth. Human activities, like industrial processes, can also produce oxygen, but natural photosynthesis is the primary source.
