oxygen absorption

Oxygen absorption is the process by which your lungs take in oxygen from the air and transfer it to your blood. When you breathe in, air reaches tiny air sacs called alveoli in the lungs. These sacs are extremely thin and surrounded by small blood vessels. Oxygen passes through the walls of the alveoli and into the blood, where it binds to a protein called hemoglobin in red blood cells. This oxygen-rich blood then travels through your body to supply energy to tissues and organs. The process is vital for sustaining life and supporting cellular functions.
