Owner-Builder

An Owner-Builder is someone who takes on the responsibilities of managing and overseeing the construction or renovation of a property they own, rather than hiring a general contractor to do the work. This person may handle hiring subcontractors, scheduling, and ensuring the project meets building codes and standards. Owner-builders often do some of the labor themselves or directly supervise skilled tradespeople. This approach can save money and give the owner more control, but it also requires significant time, knowledge, and effort to successfully complete the project.
