Overseas Territories

Overseas territories are regions legally connected to a sovereign country but located outside its mainland. They often have distinct administrative arrangements and varying degrees of self-governance. These territories may have been acquired through historic exploration, colonization, or strategic interest, and they contribute to the country’s global presence. Examples include Bermuda (UK), Greenland (Denmark), and Puerto Rico (USA). While citizens in these territories are often considered nationals or citizens of the sovereign country, they may have unique legal, political, and cultural identities. Importantly, they are not independent countries but integral parts of the country's international relations and governance.
