Override

Override refers to the act of replacing or modifying an existing rule, setting, or decision with a different one, usually by someone with authority or special permission. It allows a person to bypass standard procedures or settings temporarily or permanently to accommodate specific needs or situations. For example, a manager might override a system’s default approval process to expedite a request, or a user might override a device’s automatic settings to customize its operation. Essentially, overriding provides a way to exercise control and make adjustments that differ from the established norms.
