Ouzo

Ouzo is a traditional Greek anise-flavored liquor, typically enjoyed as an aperitif. It’s made through distilling alcohol often derived from fermented grains or grapes, infused with herbs and spices, most notably aniseed, which gives it its distinctive licorice-like taste. When mixed with a small amount of water or ice, Ouzo turns a cloudy white due to the oils released from the anise. It's usually served in small glasses and often accompanied by mezze, a variety of Greek appetizers. Known for its aromatic and bold flavor, Ouzo is a symbol of Greek culture and social hospitality.
