Oulipo

Oulipo (short for "Ouvroir de littérature potentielle," or "Workshop of Potential Literature") is a group of writers and mathematicians founded in 1960 that explores creative writing through inventive constraints and structures. They experiment with techniques like writing using only certain patterns, forms, or rules to challenge traditional storytelling and unlock new possibilities in language. By applying these constraints intentionally, Oulipo aims to generate innovative, playful, and surprising literary works, emphasizing the process of discovery and the potential of language itself.
