other ways of knowing
Other ways of knowing are methods people use to understand the world beyond just scientific facts. These include personal experience, where we learn from our own feelings and observations; intuition, which is that gut feeling or instinct; tradition, passed down through culture and history; and authority, trusting experts or trusted sources. Each provides valuable insights, helping us make sense of complex situations that might not be fully captured by science alone. Recognizing these different ways enriches our understanding and decision-making, acknowledging that knowledge can come from many sources, not just empirical evidence.
