Osteogenic sarcoma

Osteogenic sarcoma, also known as osteosarcoma, is a type of bone cancer that originates from cells that produce bone tissue. It commonly occurs in the long bones around the knee, such as the thigh or shin, especially in teenagers and young adults. The tumor grows by creating abnormal, immature bone tissue, which can weaken the bone, cause pain, swelling, and sometimes lead to fractures. Treatment typically involves a combination of surgery to remove the tumor and chemotherapy to target cancer cells. Early diagnosis and treatment are important for the best outcome.
