Osstell
Osstell is a device used by dental professionals to assess the stability of dental implants. It works by measuring the amount of vibration or movement in an implant to determine how well it has integrated with the jawbone—a process called osseointegration. Using a small instrument called a smart peg attached to the implant, Osstell provides a numerical reading called the ISQ (Implant Stability Quotient). Higher ISQ values indicate stronger, more stable implants. This measurement helps dentists decide the right time for placing crowns or other restorations, ensuring the implant is secure and successful.
