Osprey
An osprey is a large, fish-eating bird of prey with a distinctive white underside and dark eye streaks, often called the "fish hawk." Found near lakes, rivers, and coastlines globally, ospreys are expert hunters that dive feet-first into the water to catch fish, their primary food source. They build large nests high in trees or on artificial structures, and are notable for their excellent vision and powerful talons. Ospreys play an important role in their ecosystems by helping control fish populations and indicating healthy aquatic environments.
