Osage people

The Osage are a Native American people originally from the central United States, particularly present-day Missouri, Kansas, and Oklahoma. Traditionally, they were known as skilled hunters and traders, with a rich cultural heritage that includes distinctive art, dance, and spiritual practices. In the early 19th century, they played a significant role in regional trade and politics. After forced relocations, many Osage settled in Oklahoma, where they continue to preserve their language, traditions, and sovereignty. Today, the Osage Nation is a federally recognized tribe that actively promotes cultural revitalization and economic development for its members.
