OSA

Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) is a sleep disorder where the airway repeatedly blocks or collapses during sleep, causing breathing interruptions. These pauses can last from a few seconds to over a minute and often lead to fragmented sleep. Common signs include loud snoring, choking or gasping during sleep, and daytime tiredness. OSA can affect overall health, increasing risks for high blood pressure, heart disease, and accidents due to drowsiness. It’s usually diagnosed with a sleep study and treated with lifestyle changes, devices like CPAP machines, or other medical interventions to keep the airway open during sleep.
