Ormond's disease

Ormond's disease, also known as retroperitoneal fibrosis, is a rare condition characterized by the development of excessive scar tissue in the space behind the abdominal cavity. This scar tissue can surround and block structures like the ureters, which carry urine from the kidneys to the bladder, potentially leading to kidney problems. The exact cause is often unknown, but it can be associated with certain medications, infections, or autoimmune responses. Treatment typically involves medications such as steroids or immunosuppressants to reduce inflammation and prevent further scarring. Early diagnosis is important to prevent serious complications.
