Original sin and its removal
Original sin is the Christian belief that humanity inherits a fallen state and tendency toward sin because of the first humans' disobedience to God. It suggests a natural tendency to choose selfishness or wrongdoing. Removal of original sin is understood differently across Christian traditions; many believe it is cleansed through baptism, which sanctifies the individual, restoring purity and grace. This spiritual cleansing enables a person to rebuild their relationship with God. Essentially, original sin is the condition inherited from Adam and Eve’s disobedience, and its removal through baptism signifies a fresh start with God's grace.
