Original Night Stalker

The Original Night Stalker was the nickname given to a serial killer and rapist active in California during the late 1970s and early 1980s. Responsible for at least 13 murders, numerous rapes, and other violent crimes, he targeted men, women, and children across multiple counties. His crimes were characterized by extreme brutality and often involved breaking into homes at night. The case remained unsolved for many years until investigative DNA evidence led to the arrest of Joseph James DeAngelo in 2018. DeAngelo’s capture provided closure to many victims and marked the end of one of California’s most notorious criminal investigations.
