Organization for European Economic Cooperation (OEEC)
The Organization for European Economic Cooperation (OEEC) was established in 1948 to help Western European countries coordinate economic recovery after World War II. It aimed to manage and distribute aid provided by the United States through the Marshall Plan, promote economic stability, and encourage cooperation among member nations. The OEEC facilitated data sharing, policy harmonization, and rebuilding efforts, laying the foundation for further European integration. It existed until 1961, when its functions transitioned to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), which expanded its focus to a broader range of economic issues beyond Europe.
