Oregon National Guard

The Oregon National Guard is a reserve military force composed of Army and Air Force units, primarily responsible for supporting national defense, disaster response, and emergency relief within Oregon and nationwide. Members are both civilians and service members who train regularly and can be activated by state or federal authorities during emergencies or military operations. They often assist in wildfire firefighting, search and rescue, and disaster recovery efforts, while also maintaining readiness for national defense missions. The Guard operates under the command of the Oregon governor for state emergencies and the President of the United States for federal missions.
