Ordinary Form of the Mass

The Ordinary Form of the Mass, also called the Roman Rite or Novus Ordo, is the standard way Catholics celebrate the Eucharist. It's structured with specific parts: the Entrance, Penitential Act, Gloria, Liturgical Prayer (including the Scripture readings), the Profession of Faith (Creed), Prayer of the Faithful, the Eucharistic Prayer (where bread and wine become Jesus’ body and blood), Communion, and the concluding rites. This format emphasizes active participation, community unity, and the central act of worship—receiving the Eucharist—celebrated in a language and order familiar worldwide.
