Order of the Dragon
The Order of the Dragon was a noble military order founded in 1408 by Hungarian and Croatian nobility, primarily to defend against Ottoman Empire advances. It was inspired by medieval chivalric ideals and symbolized loyalty, bravery, and protection of Christianity. Members, often prominent nobles, took oaths to support the ruler and fight enemies of the realm. Although not a military unit in the modern sense, the order served as a symbol of unity and resistance for the ruling elite in Central Europe during a turbulent period.
