Optical Angular Momentum

Optical Angular Momentum (OAM) refers to the twisting motion of light waves, similar to how a tornado spins. Unlike ordinary light, which travels in straight lines, light with OAM can carry a helical (spiral) pattern. This property allows it to have different "twists," which can be used in advanced applications like data transmission, imaging, and quantum communication. Essentially, OAM adds another layer of information to light, enhancing the way we can manipulate and utilize it in technology and research.
