Optic Chiasm

The optic chiasm is a crucial crossing point in the brain where the optic nerves from both eyes meet and partially cross paths. Located at the base of the brain, it allows visual information from the right and left visual fields to be processed correctly by the brain's visual cortex. Specifically, fibers from the right field of view of both eyes cross to the left side of the brain, and vice versa. This setup enables our brain to integrate visual information from both eyes, helping us perceive depth and a cohesive visual scene.
