Optic Atrophy
Optic atrophy is a condition where the optic nerve, which transmits visual information from your eye to your brain, deteriorates or gets damaged. This damage leads to a gradual loss of vision, often starting with blurry vision or loss of color perception. It can result from various causes, such as nerve damage, increased pressure in the eye, or underlying health issues like inflammation or injury. Once the optic nerve fibers are lost, the damage is usually permanent, making early diagnosis and treatment important to prevent further vision loss.
