Optic ataxia

Optic ataxia is a neurological condition where individuals have difficulty using visual information to guide their hand movements accurately, especially when reaching for objects. Despite normal eyesight and awareness of what they see, they struggle to coordinate their hand and arm to grasp or point precisely at objects, often missing or misjudging distances. This condition typically results from damage to a specific brain area involved in processing visual and spatial information, particularly in the parietal lobe. It highlights how visual perception and motor control are interconnected and how brain injuries can disrupt this coordination.
